Well today was my first day of hard bouldering outside in almost a year. I have been training at The Spot pretty regularly for the past 3 months so I knew I had gained some of my strength back but I had no idea at what grade I would be climbing at. Lets just say I was pleasantly surprised. The mission for today was to head to the Lost boulder in Eldorado Canyon with Paul ‘P-Diddy’ Dusatko and Taylor Joe Mills. It was questionable if I would even be able to pull down today because I spent the majority of the yesterday with my face in the toilet; sick with food poisoning from a certain mexican place (if I had seen that website I would not have eaten there) on the hill. I woke up this morning still feeling a little queasy but I decided to make the trek anyways. Paul had been talking up this boulder all week so he had me extremely psyched. The weather had been calling for snow but it was pretty sunny, until we started our approach then of course it started to snow. We were headed toPosts the Lost boulder to climb Elegant Infinite an amazing V10 that climbs out a shallow roof and onto an overhanging arete for a spicy last couple moves. I was definitely intimidated by the grade, as I hadn’t climbed outside in almost a year. Amzingly I was able to do the majority of the moves and by the time the day was done I had the bottom semi-dialed. A send would have been nice but to be climbing at a higher level then I was when I last touched rock was just as satisfying. For today. Now I am back in project mode and I can not get my mind off this boulder problem. Thuggy, delicate and a tad heady, just what I need. It feels good to be back. Paul was firing harder then I have ever seen him climb before too, it has to be something in the water out here because we weren’t climbing this hard back in Cali. Diddy spent the better portion of the day dialing the top moves and I’m sure he’ll send when we return. I still felt pretty weak today from not being able to eat since thursday so who knows how things will go when I am healthy. Headed to Carter Lake tomorrow so stay tuned for another blog post tomorrow.

I put this problem up and graded it V8, not sure where the V10 came from.
Just from what I saw on 8a and the consensus from others I have spoken to about the problem.
