For those of you who aren't in the know, the American Bouldering Series National Championship will be held this weekend at The Spot in Boulder, CO. I would have loved to be able to help out on the setting team but seeing as how I haven't turned a wrench in almost a year that option was obviously out of the question. What am I going to be doing instead? Volunteering. I am going to be watching the next up-and-coming Chris Sharma's of the climbing world scurry their way up Problem 5 while I judge at Youth Qualifiers on Saturday. I will be running Isolation on Friday, obviously not as fun but still an essential task. It is nice to be able to give something back to the sport that has given me so many opportunities and adventures.

I also might be filming finals, although this is contingent upon me getting a video rig. (pssst if you know anyone with an extra 3chip or HD rig send them my way!) The fact that I might miss out on an opportunity like this is really grinding my gears so I have decided that my next big purchase is going to be a HD video camera. Even if Ionly use it for personal use (blogging, memories, etc) it will be nice to have around for occasions like this. If worse comes to worse I will be, at the very least twittering about finals while I am there (I am guarunteed . If you can't make it to finals just check out my Twitter feed here on my blog or you can follow me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/boulderdiaries. I will also be uploading video to my Qik account, those uploads will appear in my twitter feed as well.
